CITE Mission Statement

The Coalition of Infant/Toddler Educators promotes quality infant and toddler care and education by building collaborations providing professional development opportunities, support and resources, and by influencing public policy.

CITE Vision Statement

High quality early care and education is available to every infant and toddler in the state of New Jersey through a coordinated system of early childhood and family support programs that offer healthy, social/emotional learning environments and educated, responsive caregivers.

CITE Goals

1. To promote professionalism and respect for child care professionals.

2. To advocate for infants by:

  • Working with legislators and government representatives to effect change in policies affecting infants, toddlers, and their families

  • Having members serve as resource consultants to centers, agencies and to companies considering child care.

3. To provide opportunities for training and workshops for child care workers, including:

  • A statewide conference

  • Regional workshops

  • Monthly program meetings

4. To collaborate with colleagues and professionals to develop infant/toddler professional training resources, including:

  • College courses

  • Audiovisual materials

  • Printed publications

  • Barbara Shaw Memorial Library

  • To develop CITE regional networks
